The 19th Annual McGquireWoods Healthcare Conference was held at the Ritz Carlton in Chicago, IL. This was Stealth Realty Advisor’s inaugural event, which was very well attended with over 850 professionals from a wide range of industries within healthcare. Derrick Bracks represented Stealth at the conference. The two-day conference included top industry professionals and several panels with a wide range of subject matter in the private equity, investment banking and lending sectors. The keynote speaker was Former Attorney General Bill Barr. Senator Claire McCaskill was also one of the speakers.
The overall theme of the conference centered on the prior year’s investment activity and forecasting for the future. The results nearly mirror what we are experiencing in healthcare commercial real estate since the second half of 2022, with added emphasis on costs, rising rates and technology shortcomings and breakthroughs. Again, like commercial real estate, it is anticipated that the second half of 2023 into 2024 should result in an increased amount of transactions in the sector with leveling off of interest rates and sellers being realistic about their bottom-line.
